When a project has been set in motion, there are always two different aspects that have to be properly monitored:
- the ‘machinery aspect’, e.g. checking that deadlines are respected, minutes are compiled, sending around notifications, reminders, etc…
- the ‘real things aspect’, e.g. checking the actual contents of a deliverable, checking that a MOM actually summarises what was discussed during the meeting, etc…
Imagine we could insert into a software system all “machinery-type” project data, like projects, work packages, tasks, deliverables, meetings, actions and the like… The system could continuously check the dates of everything and monitor the project evolution, produce reports, send invitations and also send notifications alerts whenever a deadline is about to expire, or some problem occurs.
Spazio IT could not find anywhere a software system able to perform all these checks at the required granularity level and so it developed one. The system has been designed to support EU Horizon 2020 Projects as well as ESA Projects, in particular the system provides full support for the creation and processing of ESA RIDs.
In terms of Security, Privacy Protection, Export Control and so on…, the Project-Machinery System relies on Nginx for the On-The-Fly Encryption and on MariaDB for the Encryption At Rest.
The following presentation describes the Project-Machinery System developed by Spazio IT.
